AREAS OF PRACTICE:
CATASTROPHIC PERSONAL INJURIES
1980, CO (ATTY REG. 10496) - ACTIVE
1981, WY (ATTY REG. 5-1913) - ACTIVE
Jim has spent the last three decades representing individuals as they face life-altering, catastrophic and otherwise undesirable turns of events, leaving these individuals in situations which are anything but easy. An “easy” case (for example, think of a drunk driver caught in the act by security cameras) can be quickly settled by a rookie or inexperienced lawyer. There are not many of these easy cases. Anyone can settle an easy case (as compared to trying a less obvious case to a jury, to a verdict). So, the lawyer you should hire for your own personal injury or insurance case is the one who has run the gauntlet and won jury trials, particularly in cases with an “unpopular” client where the deck was stacked against them, and cases where the opposing party was not a drunk driver and was otherwise presentable in court.
Jim has successfully represented blue-collar workers, illegal immigrants and parties similarly considered "unpopular" in the court system in jury trials against adversarial giants such as insurance companies. So your case, while still very challenging, won’t start with the opposition already two touchdowns ahead.
Jim helps people with injury and insurance cases in Colorado and Wyoming*.

Significant Settlement Encourages Safer Skiing
A 19 year old Aspen skier looked before he leapt, launching a 360 degree turn before making sure the area below was clear. The skier, who was moving at least 35 miles per hour, ran into Jim's client--a medical professional, who suffered a closed head injury, a severely injured shoulder, and a destabilized cervical neck fracture. This gentleman’s medical skills, livelihood, and quality of life were taken from him. Jim went all out for this client and hired the best expert witnesses, including consulting engineers who produced this animated reenactment.
The case was settled four months before trial for $3,255,000.
